Cyndi Hall’s Music Studio is currently accepting applications for auditions to participate in a Solo Violin and Chamber Music Master Class with Guest Artist Benjamin Hudson. Student/Participant Nomination Criteria
In order to participate in the Benjamin Hudson Master Class each participant must complete the Audition Nomination form below. If you are participating in a Chamber Ensemble, please have one person complete the form and list all other participant names and contact Number. In addition, there is a $40.00 non- refundable registration fee per participant made payable to: Cyndi Hall’s Music Studio. No audition slot will be granted until payment is received from all participants whether soloist or chamber musician (e.g.. trio fee $120.00 to participate). Please mail your completed nomination forms along with the $40 non- refundable registration fee to: Cyndi Hall’s Music Studio: Master Class Participation, P. O. Box 2644, Van Nuys, California 91404. Forms must be received no later than the nomination due dates listed below. Participants will be contacted and assigned an audition time by the Master Class coordinator. Solo Violin and Chamber Music Master Class will be on June 26, 2016
The Ben Hudson Master Classes are open to college and pre-college musicians from a wide range of ages and levels of training, students enrolled in a preparatory division of a conservatory and qualified adult students. The criteria for selecting participants include good preparation, serious dedication, and the ability to respond to suggestions in a class situation, whether the student is performing a standard concerto or contemporary selections. Students or chamber group chosen to perform must be residents of the Los Angeles or Ventura Counties.
• Beginning Students: Not eligible.
• Intermediate and Advanced Students:
Violinists: Two contrasting selections. (One movement of a concerto or a sonata would constitute a selection.) Where appropriate, repertoire should be memorized.
Chamber Ensemble: must include at least one string orchestral instrument. Two contrasting selections.
Piano Accompanists (for Violinists)
For Auditions: An accompanist is recommended, but not necessary. Participants are responsible for arranging their own accompanist. Be aware that rehearsal time may not be available prior to audition.
For Master Class: Participants are responsible for arranging their own accompanist. Be aware that rehearsal time may not be available prior to Master Class.
