GROUP LESSONS include two to six individuals and may be arranged by private parties who desire a group setting over private lessons. Group lessons may also be requested by the instructor in addition to private instruction for social/ensemble training. Rates depend on the number of participants and are billed per person.

What's the Value of Group Instruction?

There is a big educational value that comes with participating in group lessons in addition to private instruction. Here are some of the benefits:

  • Group lessons cultivate healthy competition whereby students motivate and encourage each other to grow.
  • Group lessons encourage excellence, both musically and personally.
  • Group lessons foster healthy social skills as students learn to interact with each other in a constructive, respectful manner and within a warm, caring, team-oriented environment.
  •  Group lessons helps build confidence and strong musical skills.

Group lessons introduce students to the ensemble experience and gives the students an appreciation for being a part of something larger than themselves.  Different skill sets are needed to participate in group settings. These skills will be nurtured and developed within each participant.

My Student is Already in an Orchestra. Do They Still Need Group Instruction?

Small group lessons differ from orchestral participation in that there are a limited number of students in the group, each with his/her own part to play; therefore, each student's role within the group is vital to the success of the group as a whole. Personal responsibility and respect for all members is mandatory for involvement.
